Pasanisi
Director, filmmaker and photographer
I started out as a photographer at a fashion agency. That’s where I learnt to read light, to build a shot, to notice the details that usually slip by.
From photography to film
Over time, a still image was no longer enough. I wanted it to tell not only what you see, but what you feel looking at it. I studied film and spent a year working alongside a commercials director.
Elsewhere
Eight months in Sydney. Then New York, Los Angeles, Brazil. Different cities and rhythms, different ways of being in front of a camera. Every journey shifted something in the way I tell stories.
Out of Frame
OUT OF FRAME grew out of this: the urge to go beyond the predictable shot and the story you see coming. The 25 alongside the name is the number of frames in a second of film: single moments that, one after another, become movement.
“Not just what you see. But what you feel.”
